Membership Application

I would first like to take this opportunity to congratulate the 2007 Conference Planning Committee for a successful conference in St. Louis!

Thank you to everyone who visited the ILCEIA table during the conference!

Illinois was well represented at the conference with more than fifty attendees present. Special recognition goes to all of our award recipients from the state as well as to the MCEIA 2006-2007 President, Jean Spahr, of the College of DuPage (COD) for all her work and leadership this year.

Our state meeting was very productive, with a review and approval of our revised ILCEIA Constitution and By-laws, discussion of state membership updates, initial planning stages of our spring drive-in conference, and a call for our new standing committees – Historian, College-Employer Relations, Communications, and Awards and Recognition. We are hoping to have the chairperson positions for each of these committees filled by the time of the conference.

We have adopted the region’s motto of “Each One Reach One”, to increase our membership and participation within the organization. We have also adopted an overall motto, “ILCEIA: Connect, Share, Mentor, and Educate,” which describes our vision and goals for the next year.

Our next general meeting is scheduled for December 7th at Illinois Institute of Technology, and will focus on the April 18, 2008 ILCEIA Drive-In Conference. This conference will be coordinated by the ILCEIA President Elect, Lovetta Houston of Illinois Institute of Technology.
